#5 - Podcasting & Streaming/ Downloadable Media

I found a link to this video on a blog called Union Librarian. I wish it had a different video with the soundtrack, but hearing Paul Robeson is worth it to me. This was not my first attempt at posting a video to my blog. The first was a comedy by Andy Dick in which he plays the genius speechwriter behind W. Bush. The problem was that related videos also appeared below in the scroll and were somewhat unsavory probably due to the unfortunate tags from their names.

Hillsborough Remembers has great potential. Hope it is ongoing. I listened to a Town 'n Country segment.

I downloaded a book from TBLC on Overdrive. I thought it was very cool, but had some problems. First, I could only transfer half of the book to my mp3 player. So, I had to listen to the first half of Pillars of the Earth in 3 days. At 11 p.m. on the last day that the title would be available I finished the first half and deleted it. But the title had expired already. I guess they have office hours? I thought the whole thing was on my computer, but apparently that expires, too. Second, the parts were out of order. I made a list of how the parts corresponded but this was very cumbersome. Third, did you know that it is illegal to drive while listening to an mp3 player? No, I didn't get a ticket, but one of my sons got pulled over last week for that reason. Last, to listen to half of one book used a whole AAA battery and part of another! I put the ebook on hold again, but I think I'll put the REAL book on hold instead now.
